This project is very simple but it does take a little time. All you need is an empty Altoids tin, some blank sticker paper that you can send through your printer. (I used blank labels that were originally for floppy disks remember those?) some glue, a ruler a marker, some scissors and finally some magnet sheets. We get magnets on the front of all of our phone-books you know the ones that advertise somebody or others plumbing company.
Speaking of phone books.... Does anyone have a good idea on what to do with them? It seems like we get a new book every couple of months. But I digress. I will have to contemplate the upcycled phone book project later. Any way back to the magnetic poetry. Gather your supplies.
I guess I forgot to mention the last and most important thing you need is a list of 250 to 300 words that you like. Type them into what ever computer program you use and then print them. I had to cut the words out to fit them on to the magnets and then I cut the magnets since my sheets were all different sizes.
I also decided to cover the top and the bottom with a magnet sheet. Using the marker I traced around the top and the bottom of the tin and then cut out the shape and glued it to the tin.
Here is the finished product.
